Hi! I’m Lou, a 40-year-old mum of one daughter. I live in Nottingham, England with her, my husband, a cat, a dog and a rabbit (who is the boss of us all). I would love to live abroad some day – ideally Spain or Portugal.
I have been blogging for over 15 years now, and since 2012 on my other blog, Birds and Lilies, which I started when my daughter was six months old
I wanted to write about my new life as a mum and hopefully create something that meant I could stay at home with my daughter whilst doing something that I love. That is what happened, and now I have a few blogs on different subjects.
We moved house last year and the garden is much bigger than we had before and in a bit of a mess. So now I have started to get into gardening, learning as I go, and getting plenty of help from my mum, who also learnt to garden from her mum; my Granny.
So I wanted to start this blog to write about learning to garden, tips and ideas, and how things are going with it. We have a little pond that we have decided to keep, as we love seeing the frogs and other wildlife that it brings to our garden, so I’ll be talking about that too.
It’s currently spring and I have some herbs, salad leaves, tomatoes, strawberries and some seeds growing – I’m really enjoying growing food we can eat and watching it grow – it’s very satisfying. I don’t really know what I’m doing properly yet, so I’m kind of winging it, but it’s working so far!
I’m a blogger and freelance writer, which I love, and I feel so grateful that I get to do this full-time around school runs and family time. I have been lucky enough to work with lots of brands, both big and small, and I love working hard to create content that we are both happy with.
It’s lovely to have you here. I hope you enjoy reading.
I would love to hear from you. You can contact me via email at thegardenwindowblog@gmail.com, or connect with me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
